Dr. Balch and the prostate

Since I posted a testimonial on Immunotec's Magistral, I want you to read what Dr. Balch , who put the Magistral formula together has to say about the prostate. James Balch, M.D., a specialist in urology, is a member of the American Urology Association and the American College of Surgeons.

If you are a male over 40 and don't already suffer from a prostate gland disorder, the odds are 2 to 1 that you will before you are 59. By the age of 65, most American men have enlarged prostates. Musician Frank Zappa died from prostate growth. He was only in his fifties.

As the prostate enlarges, sexual performance declines and often becomes quite painful. Many men become totally impotent as a result, and some experience the added embarrassment of incontinence (uncontrolled wetting).

The New York Times reported recently that American men spend $3 BILLION DOLLARS annually on prostate surgery. Frequently, the prostate becomes tumorous and requires surgical intervention. For men, the third most common site for a growth is the prostate gland.

In Europe, doctors are not as prescription drug and surgery oriented, but prefer natural medicines. Their success in deterring and relieving prostate problems has been so much higher that almost 90% of the doctors in Germany won't even consider American-style drugs.

The First Sign of Danger

Researchers say millions of men are living with prostate problems and don't know it. The first sign is the need to urinate frequently during the night. Then that progresses to a slight pain or burning sensation during urination, or difficulty staring or stopping urine flow.

Because the symptoms are vague, nearly 90% of all prostatic growths go undetected until they have spread beyond the most easily treated stage.

Three Types of Prostate Disorders

The three most common problems associated with the prostate are infection, enlargement and growths. Infection usually starts in some other part of the body and travels to the prostate. An infected prostate will swell and block the flow of urine through the urethra, which causes a backup in the bladder. The bladder then becomes infected and passes the infection to the kidneys.

Enlargement is normally caused by a reduced production of the major male hormone (Testosterone), which declines after you pass the age of 40. Other hormones are thus increased, causing an overproduction of cells in the prostate gland. This type of enlargement also constricts the urethra and causes the bladder and kidneys to become infected.

Growths also enlarge the prostate due to the fast multiplication of abnormal cells.

Surgery Not The Best Answer

As we all know, doctors are surgery happy, but surgery often results in further complications, mainly impotence and incontinence. However, if you have a growth, there may be no other choice - except chemotherapy - which may have equally detrimental side effects.

Even the newest prescription drugs have had limited success in reducing an enlarged prostate. Some of the side effects of these drugs are almost as bad as the prostate disorder itself.

Many doctors feel that an enlarged prostate can be treated or deterred by giving the gland the nutrition it lacks . . . a good place to begin is . . . the Saw Palmetto formula . . . MAGISTRAL... For Men Only.... to be continued.
